My verdict

If you want a slim folding fat tire e-bike with suspension front and rear, the Gyroor C5 Max is the one I'd pick over the Tesgo STT. I rode both back to back in 2022. The Gyroor rides really smoothly, its 500W motor was plenty for me at 200 lbs, and it folds into a slimmer package. The Tesgo is far faster with its 1,000W motor, so if you strictly want speed, buy the Tesgo. The Gyroor isn't perfect. Its charge plug kept falling out, the rear rack is flimsy, and there's no tail light.

What I liked

  • Front and rear suspension; it rides really smoothly
  • Slim frame that folds into a smaller package than the Tesgo
  • Plenty of room to pedal, with nothing on the frame in the way of your heels
  • Really comfortable palm-style grips
  • Twist throttle that works from zero
  • Front headlight and a really loud horn
  • Name-brand shifter
  • Tires with a bit more tread than the Tesgo's, which I believe are puncture resistant
  • Lighter than the Tesgo

What I didn't

  • The charge plug kept falling out
  • Pretty flimsy rear rack
  • No tail light, just a reflector
  • Simple, non-color display
  • Cadence sensor, not a torque sensor
  • Half the motor power of the Tesgo
  • Not on Gyroor's own store as of Oct 22, 2026

Should you buy one?

If you want a slim folding fat tire e-bike with suspension front and rear, the Gyroor C5 Max is the one I’d pick over the Tesgo STT. I rode both back to back in 2022. The Gyroor rides really smoothly, its 500W motor was plenty for me at 200 lbs, and it folds into a slimmer package. The Tesgo is far faster with its 1,000W motor, so if you strictly want speed, buy the Tesgo.

The Gyroor isn’t perfect. Its charge plug kept falling out, the rear rack is flimsy, and there’s no tail light.

Buying note: as of Oct 22, 2026, I couldn’t find the C5 Max on Gyroor’s own online store. My link goes to Amazon, so check the listing and seller before you buy.

Quick specs

Gyroor’s product page for the C5 Max is gone, so these numbers come from Gyroor’s own blog comparison table (checked Oct 22, 2026) and my video.

It has front and rear suspension. There’s no price here because neither Gyroor nor my video gave one.

Two things to know:

Pros and cons

Pros

Cons

Why I compared these two

The Gyroor C5 Max and Tesgo STT are so similar that if you’re shopping for a folding fat tire e-bike, you’re probably making the same comparison. Side by side, they’re about the same size, and the seats are about the same size too.

The Gyroor C5 Max up close

Controls and lights

The grips on the left are really nice. They fit your palm and are really comfortable to rest your hand on. I love this style.

There’s a front headlight, which is great for rider safety, but no matching tail light. Gyroor just put a reflector on the back and didn’t run wires for a light. If you ride at dusk, add a rear light.

The display is very simple. There’s a really loud horn and the front brake on the left. On the right you have a twist throttle that works from zero, the rear brake and a pretty nice name-brand shifter.

Folding and suspension

The neck folds in on itself, similar to the Aventon Sinch I reviewed. Most fat tire folders I’ve tried fold the same way.

What sets the Gyroor apart is suspension: a front fork and a rear shock, which is really nice to see on a folding fat tire e-bike.

The charge port

This was my biggest annoyance. I couldn’t keep the charger plugged in. It kept falling out, and I’ve had the same problem with cheap plugs from other manufacturers. The location of this one makes it worse.

Pedaling, rack and motor

It uses a cadence sensor. There’s plenty of room to pedal, with nothing on the frame in your way, unlike the Tesgo.

The rear rack is pretty flimsy, but it seems fine for holding a good amount of stuff. You can also see the locking mechanism for the fold and a pretty large rear hub motor. Build quality is pretty nice, and it rides really smoothly, as you’d expect with front and rear suspension.

The Tesgo STT up close

The Tesgo’s seat is pretty decent, and it has a shock built into the seat post for some up and down travel. That’s because it’s missing the rear suspension the Gyroor has. On the Tesgo, the seat almost hits the rear basket, so if you run the seat lower, it’ll hit the basket.

The Tesgo gets a thumb throttle instead of a twist throttle, and it has a nicer color display. It’s ridiculously fast, with a ton of power, and the throttle works from zero. It also has a front fork, fenders and a beefy rear rack. I really like its tail light, which lights up when you squeeze the brake.

My big complaint is the frame. It bows out into a Y shape near the cranks, and my heels kept hitting it. I don’t have huge feet. Riders with smaller feet probably won’t have an issue, but for me it was a design flaw.

Both bikes are a little heavy, and the Tesgo is definitely the heavier one, with a much beefier frame than the slim Gyroor.

Tires and power

The tires are about the same size on both. The Gyroor’s tire has a little more tread, which is another point for the Gyroor.

The biggest difference is power. The Gyroor has a 500W motor and the Tesgo has a 1,000W motor, twice as much, and you can really feel it. At about 200 lbs, I found the Gyroor’s 500W plenty. The Tesgo is pure joy. I got it well over 20 mph. I’ve tested other 1,000W e-bikes, but they had big, heavy frames and didn’t feel as quick as this lighter Tesgo.

What the specs mean on the road

48V 12Ah battery. That works out to 576Wh (48 x 12). That’s a mid-size battery. Gyroor’s 37 mile throttle-only figure is lower than its 50 mile pedal assist figure because the motor does all the work on throttle.

Cadence sensor. The motor turns on when the cranks turn and gives a set amount of help for each level. It doesn’t respond to how hard you push like a torque sensor does.

Front and rear suspension. That’s a big part of why the Gyroor rode so smoothly for me.

20 x 4 inch tires. Small wheels keep the folded size down.

63 lbs and 220 lb max load. At 63 lbs it isn’t light for a folder, even though it was the lighter of the two. The 220 lb limit includes you and your cargo, so at 200 lbs I didn’t have much room for a loaded rack.

Which one would I buy?

The Gyroor. When I buy a folding e-bike, I want a slimmer design, and the Tesgo is a bit too beefy for a folder. If I strictly wanted speed on a fat tire bike, I’d go with the Tesgo. It’s way faster, especially off the line.
