Should you buy one?

On paper, the RadRunner Max is the heavy hauler in Rad’s utility lineup, at $2,299 (as of Oct 23, 2026). It lists a 420 lb payload, a 120 lb rear rack, a 90 Nm torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, radar for approaching cars, a 672Wh battery and Apple Find My support. It’s 82 lb, so it’s not a bike you carry.

Pros and cons (from the specs)

Pros

Cons

What the specs mean on the road

420 lb payload, 275 lb max rider. A 200 lb rider has 220 lb left for kids or cargo, with up to 120 lb on the rack.

90 Nm torque sensor. Strong pull from a stop with a load, and smooth assist as you pedal harder.

Radar. The display shows approaching vehicles’ distance and speed, and the rear lights flash to alert them, even with your lights off. That matters most when you’re hauling kids in traffic.

672Wh, 19-61+ miles. Loaded cargo riding uses more power. Expect the lower end with heavy loads.

20 x 3.5 in tires. Small, wide wheels keep the load low and stable.

Dual leg center stand. Holds the bike upright while kids climb on. I praised the parking brake on the Bunch Bike for the same reason.

82 lb. Plan for garage storage.
