I haven’t ridden the Velotric Fold 1. This profile is built from Velotric’s official product page, checked on Oct 23, 2026. Every number below comes from that page unless I mark it as my own math, and I explain what each one means for your rides.
Should you buy one?
On paper, the Fold 1 is a strong folder with a very low step. For $1,299 (as of Oct 23, 2026) Velotric lists a 750W motor, a 608 Wh battery, a 15.75 in standover, a 440 lb max load and a 120 lb rear rack. The trade-offs on paper: it weighs 63 lb, uses a cadence sensor, and has a small 1.8 in display.

- Fenders and rack included

What the specs mean on the road
750W, 1050W peak, 70 Nm. Good torque for a 20 in folder. Small wheels also help the motor get going.
Cadence sensor. Assist comes on when the cranks turn. It’s simple and easy to learn, but less natural than a torque sensor.
608 Wh, up to 55 miles. Velotric’s figure is for a 187 lb rider in PAS 1 on flat roads. Real riding with more assist will be lower.
15.75 in standover. Velotric pitches it at riders with knee or hip concerns.
440 lb max load, 120 lb rack. Room for a big rider plus cargo.
63 lb. Folding helps storage, but lifting it into a trunk is a real effort.
How it compares to bikes I’ve reviewed
- Aventon Sinch: a folding fat tire bike I tested that fit in my Model 3 trunk.
- Kingbull Literider: a folding step-through I tested with a cadence sensor and hydraulic brakes.
- Velotric Discover 1: a Velotric commuter I tested, at 63 lb, the same weight Velotric lists for the Fold 1.
Who it’s for
- Riders who need a very low step
- Apartment and RV owners
- Heavier riders who want a folder
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who wants a torque sensor
- Riders who lift the bike often
