Should you buy one?
If you’re on the shorter side and want a comfortable, moped-style fat tire e-bike you mostly ride on the throttle, the Actbest Super X is very decent for the price. I tested it for several weeks. You get dual suspension, 4-inch fat tires, hydraulic disc brakes, a huge comfortable seat and a twist throttle that works from zero.
If you’re tall, or you actually want to pedal, I’d look elsewhere. The seat is fixed, so you can’t raise or lower it. I’m about 6’1”, and pedaling this bike was quite uncomfortable for me.
Buying note: Actbest no longer lists the Super X on its site as of Oct 22, 2026. The last official listing I found, from April 2025, showed it sold out at a $799 sale price. Check the Amazon link for current availability.

Source note: the figures are from Actbest’s Super X product page as archived on April 20, 2025. The live page now redirects to Actbest’s home page (Oct 22, 2026). Rows marked “my video” are what I said in my November 2024 video. Actbest listed the regular price as $1,699.
Where the numbers are shaky:
- Battery. Actbest’s spec table says 48V 15.6Ah, but the page copy says 48V 15Ah. The page also calls the battery integrated. On my bike it was a big, beefy battery with no integration into the frame.
- Water rating. The same page lists IP54 in one spot and IPX5 in another.
- Assist levels. I counted five pedal assist levels on the display. Actbest’s page talks about three riding modes.
- Range. 45 to 70 miles is Actbest’s claim, with 70 on pedal assist. I didn’t run a range test, and since pedaling this bike is uncomfortable for taller riders, expect to lean on the throttle.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Huge, really comfortable moped-style seat
- Dual suspension with a front fork and a rear shock
- 4-inch fat tires that are super comfortable to ride
- Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear
- Twist throttle that works from zero
- Pretty powerful rear hub motor
- Integrated headlight that’s plenty bright at night
- Loud horn
- Comfortable palm-rest grips
- Kickstand tucked away from the crankset
Cons
- Fixed seat that can’t be raised or lowered
- Uncomfortable to pedal if you’re tall
- Battery styling is quite hideous to me
- Small fenders that let water splash up
- Very basic black and white display
- Lots of baseline components
- No longer listed on Actbest’s site
The name and the styling
I have to say it. The name is really laughable to me, and I’m not a fan.
I do like the styling at first glance. The big seat and fat tires give it that moped look. But the battery is where the styling part ends for me. It’s a big, beefy battery bolted on with no integration into the frame, and to me it’s quite hideous.
The seat
Actbest definitely went above and beyond with comfort on this seat. It’s a huge motorcycle or moped style seat, and it’s really comfortable.
The problem is the seat is fixed. You can’t raise or lower it, which limits who this bike fits. At 6’1”, pedaling was quite uncomfortable for me, as you can see in my video, so shorter riders will fit it better.
Motor
This is a pretty powerful e-bike with a rear hub motor, so you don’t need to pedal if you don’t want to. Actbest lists a 1,500W peak brushless motor and a 28 mph top speed.
Suspension and tires
This is a dual suspension e-bike. There’s a front fork suspension, plus a rear suspension under the seat. Together with the 4-inch fat tires, it’s super comfortable to ride.
Controls and display
On the left side you get the comfortable hand grip you’ve seen in my other videos, the kind that lets your palm rest. You also get the front hydraulic disc brake, a horn that’s pretty loud and a light button.
The display controls are simple: a power button and plus and minus buttons for pedal assist. The center display is basic black and white, with five levels of pedal assist.
On the right side you get the rear hydraulic disc brake, a twist throttle that works from zero and a very standard shifter for the rear gears. Actbest lists 7 speeds.
Lights and fenders
The integrated front headlight is plenty bright, especially at night, and it goes nicely with the fat tires.
You get front and rear fenders, but they’re quite small. I did get some splashing because of how short they are.
Kickstand
The kickstand is tucked away from the crankset. When you move the bike around, there’s no interference with the kickstand.
What the specs mean on the road
1,500W peak, 28 mph, Class 3. 28 mph is Class 3 territory, and many states keep Class 3 bikes off multi-use paths, so check your state’s e-bike laws.
48V 15.6Ah battery. That works out to about 749Wh. Actbest’s 45 to 70 miles assumes pedaling. Since I mostly rode it on the throttle, expect the low end or less.
84.9 lbs. That’s heavy. You won’t lift it onto a car rack or up stairs easily, and pedaling it without the motor is work.
330-360 lb payload, 120 lb rack. The payload covers you and your cargo together. Stay inside both numbers.

Source note: Actbest figures are from its archived April 2025 product page. Mokwheel Obsidian and Bee Cool Adventurer figures are from my Mokwheel Obsidian review and Bee Cool Adventurer review, which use each brand’s spec page. Range figures are each brand’s top rated number. Mokwheel’s price is its sale price.
All three are dual suspension fat tire bikes. The Obsidian and Adventurer carry bigger batteries and weigh less on paper. The Super X’s moped seat is its standout, and its fixed seat is its biggest fit problem.
